four blue moons ago
beneath the wink of harboured lights  
off Alphabet Street

I remember you as you were
an apparition to behold, a bonfire of awe
in your blue jeans and cowl-neck woollen jumper
igniting the atmosphere as the trees
crowned your head
the pavilion shone, and my eyes flickered

We were offered the sky
and my world grew wide
an invitation to believe in more
that I had ever dared before
nothing grand, nothing loud

just the quiet certainty
that if the world ever asked
where my gravity lived,
I would answer
with your name
